Sample Collected
For the COVID-19 test, a sample of mucus from your nose or throat is collected. The CDC recommends a nasal swab to collect the sample. However, if certain conditions will make it hard to obtain the sample through the nose, a throat swab will be done instead.
Our healthcare professional will slowly insert a thin, long swab into the nostril until it reaches the cavity between the nose and mouth. Although it might feel a bit unpleasant, the test is generally painless. The swab will remain in place for about 15 seconds and then rotated gently before slowly pulling it out. It is then immediately inserted into a collection tube. The same process is then repeated on the other nostril to make sure enough mucus is collected. Once done, the sample will be sent to the laboratory for analysis.
The whole process of collecting the sample will only take about 5-15 minutes.

RESULTS FROM COVID-19 TESTING
You will get the results within 3-5 days. We will contact you via phone or email to inform you of the outcome of your COVID-19 test. Your test results can either be positive or negative.
Positive Result
If you test positive for COVID-19, that means that you are currently infected with the virus. We advise you to stay at home and isolate yourself from other members of the family. We also recommended that you ask anyone who’s been in close contact with you to get themselves tested. You will have to stay in isolation until your symptoms have improved, it’s been 10 days since the symptoms first appeared, and if you no longer have a fever for 24 hours or more. Other people with lower immunity might have to stay in isolation for longer. It’s best to stay in touch with your doctor.
Negative Result
If you test negative for COVID-19, that means that you were not infected with the virus. However, that does not mean that you will not get sick in the future. It’s crucial that you still follow the recommended guidelines to prevent getting the virus.
