WHAT IS A PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?

Our physicians are on the frontlines of public health. They are your first point of entry into the healthcare system. A primary healthcare physician is more than just a doctor you can call when you're not feeling well. They are your partner in staying strong and healthy. Most of the time, physicians develop strong relationships with their patients since they care for the same people and their families for years.

WHAT DOES A PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN DO?

Commonly encounters conditions like diabetes, hypertension, flu, rashes, headaches, abdominal, and muscle pain. They also focus on preventive care. A primary healthcare physician is the first doctor patients go to when they experience sudden or unusual conditions. They treat you when you're sick, help you stay healthy, and refer you to specialists if needed.

WHY HAVING A PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN

IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR HEALTH?

1

Helps You With Any Conditions

Comprehensive Health Care

Who's the best person to talk to if you suddenly catch the flu or cough? If you developed rashes or have abdominal pains? If you feel anxious and tired but can't sleep? The answer? Your primary healthcare physician!

Your primary healthcare physician focuses on comprehensive health care. They are trained to treat a little bit of everything. On top of that, they manage your health care in one central location.

With a primary healthcare physician, you can discuss a variety of health issues. That means they can be your doctor at any point in your life, thus creating a lifelong relationship.

They Know You

They Understand Your Entire Health History

Regular visits with your primary healthcare physician not only builds a relationship, but it also builds your health history. Primary healthcare doctors can treat you for years, which would allow them to know your medical history inside and out. Knowing and understanding yours and your family's health history is important for the doctor to make the right diagnoses, catch early symptoms of a condition, and eventually, helps in preventing diseases.

You Know Them

You're Working With Someone You Chose and Trust

Since these regular visits build relationships and trust, that means you'll be more comfortable talking to your primary healthcare physician compared to other doctors. The better the relationship, the better you're being cared for. Likewise, your physician would be more comfortable in being honest with their thoughts about your health. It's a win-win situation.

The problem with urgent care doctors is, you didn't choose them. And they don't know you the same way your physical care physician does. unlike working with a primary healthcare physician that you chose and trust.

Prevent Undesired Conditions

Detect Health Issues Early

Routine screenings, like taking your blood pressure every appointment, are important for monitoring your health. These tests help your doctor to detect health issues before they get worse. They are also beneficial in detecting problems, even if no symptoms are showing. Your primary healthcare physicians also know how to ask you the right questions, which helps them in catching other health problems you may have.

Get Easy Access to Any Medical Services

They Can Refer You to Other Medical Specialists

Your primary healthcare physician most likely has a list of specialists that they can refer you to. If ever you need a cardiologist or surgeon, your primary healthcare doctor can help you find someone who fits your needs — and personality.

Inexpensive Quality Medical Service

Have Lower Overall Healthcare Costs

Regular visits to your primary healthcare physicians and routine screenings would also mean that you'll have lesser hospital and ER visits. Lesser admission to the hospital, ER, and surgery rooms could mean lesser overall healthcare costs. So, although tedious, these primary healthcare visits are way better and cheaper.
